United Airlines Plane Removed from Service After Passengers Fall Ill
Around two dozen passengers fell ill on a United Airlines flight from Vancouver, Canada to Houston, Texas on Friday.
The Boeing 737 Max was carrying 163 passengers. The cause of the illness, which caused vomiting and dizziness in addition to flu-like symptoms, is still unknown.
The plane was removed from service and all passengers were deplaned. The plane underwent a deep cleaning and all the passengers were screened for illness.
The airline said in a statement that it is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate the incident.
This is the second time in recent months that a United Airlines flight has been removed from service due to passenger illness. In April, a United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco was diverted to Chicago after several passengers fell ill. That incident was also caused by an unknown illness.
